Two questions:

1) Why is the Hyundai Genesis considered a Pony Car.. and the 370Z or even G37 is not???

2) How did the V6 Camaro beat the V6 Mustang when we have heard HYPE for over a year that the 2011 Mustang V6 was a 0-60 in under 5.7sec machine??
?

As far as why those cars in your first question are classified as they are I have no idea. The difference in 0-60 times can be wildly different given temperatures, humidity, elevation, track conditioning, drivers, are probably some of the reason for discrepancies in 0-60 times.

No doubt.

Did U see in the article where the Camaro was a RENTAL.. with 11K miles on it vs all new cars from the competition. I swear... Motor Trend and it's need to dog out GM.

Given your "Drives: 07 Tahoe, 08 Z51, 09 CTS-V, 11 RS" it`s a mystery to me also.

They did just give the Volt and Silverado HD COTY and TOTY respectively...

I think the genesis has back seats, so it got lumped in with the domestics for testing. based on that, I'd say the g37s is fair game.

the 370z doesn't have a back seat and it would mop up all v6s tested here, but you give up some utility and space for that and it's not a fair comparison.

True... Damn good point.. but still.. Dogging the Camaro out for not having a NAV system despite having OnStar, all the while neglecting the fact that it comes with the sweet HUD is beyond me. The hate on the INTERIOR of the YEAR also sounds like MEDIA BAND-WAGONING to me.. personally I love the looks of the Challenger almost equally with those of my Camaro.. but the interior, performance, and CHEVY reliability are serious reason why I bought another GM for my G6 replacement.

OK... that and I obviously am a GM Fanboy since I was 4 years old...

sounds like they gave GM the advantage in that case with a broken in vehicle.

I don't see it that way as this was OBVIOUSLY not a performance contest for the WIN. This was about what would be a better Daily Driver... the Mustang won, but based on my driving of all 4... the Camaro and Challenger should have easily taken that title. Of course I like larger SOLID feeling cars

I thought so too. I tell ya, if they would make the Challenger with a 6-speed stick and a tad more power, it would give the Camaro sixers a run with it's ultra-cool retro look.

Long term prediction: in out years finding a 2011 Mustang stick with 3.31's will be a super popular sleeper ride.

the Mustang didn't have the performance package right?
MT basically change the #1 and #2 spot from the last test were the mustang had the performance package.
