What trades-offs would you have made

As happy as most of us are with the Camaro, there are always a few things that we would have preferred that GM did differently with it. But its always going to be a compromise, for example less weight would mean fewer features/less safe/or more expensive. Rushing production reduces quality/reliability.

Personally, would have liked for the 1SS to be more akin to the LS than the LT, and have the priced droped to ~$29 000 instead of $30 995.

So what would you have done differently?

I would of liked to see the 1SS start at $29,999, the V6 auto to have a LSD, optional push button start (though the switchblade is very cool too!) and functional hood scoop on the V8's. But aside from those minor details, I must say GM did an outstanding job with this car, it has by far the most features I like out of all production cars - sporty, elegant, sexy (wierd using this term to describe a car but hey you know it is true lol), practical interior, etc. etc.

More engine options. 300hp is good and 426 is great....but it would have been nice to see another V8 in the middle....350-375hp range. That way you wouldn't have had to spend over 30K to get a V8.

I would have liked to have seen a concept that would have the Volts technology inside it. I would be all over that like white on rice!

I'm actually pretty happy with what they did and what they offered. I've been lusting over the Evo for years and this car changed it all. I'm not a big performance mod guy and the 426 hp is more than i'll ever need. So i'll be investing time and money in styling.

I think I would have added SLA double wishbone suspension. A choice between XM or HD radio, especially since satellite radio is not doing too good right now. Maybe some more aluminum used to lower the weight, ie decklid, roof, or outer door panel. A larger trunk opening too because it looks very small.

I would have liked a more modern-themed interior.

Yeah, I know it's against the way they originally used the Z/28 name. But I liked the way they did the model line-ups with the 4th gens too.

I would like to have the option... like the R/T a mid range V8, then let GTAHVIT have his 1300 hp LS13 twin supercharged....

Not really against history.... a 5.0 (302) engine in the 1969 Z/28, and 6.5 (396) in the SS.

I honestly would not change anything major on this car. Like some were saying, a 350-375hp V8 for under 30K would have been nice. Come on now GM, what is with the non-functional hood scoop. I mean, lets get real for a quik second. A little bit more going on in front of the passenger on the dash, and maybe a cup holder in the back seat.... HAAA, there will be nothing liquified in my camaro let alone in the back seat. Maybe just a small bottle of water in the front and thats it.
