Drive up on ramps a bit before jacking.

Please don't do what he suggested.

If you don't have ramps, drive up on a 2x10 then you could probably get the jack under.

Have you lowered your suspension?

I don't have any problems getting a jack under mine.

The 2x10 suggestion is sound.

Anyone who believed that crap I posted should not be driving a Camaro.

Any scrap lumber you have laying around (check your neighbor's yards, if necessary) is good to use as a temporary ramp to get the car higher. Just pile it up and drive up on it. Sort of.

Ramps suck, they scoot and they often won't clear on low bumpers.

Get a block of wood and jack it here on the side opposite the plug, get it up high enough to get under to replace the filter. Put a JACK STAND under the sub frame and take some weight off the jack.
I use homemade ramps myself, they work great.

He isn't actually talking about a ramp. The OP needs 2 small pieces of 2x4 to drive up on. If the OP is stock height he needs a jack not made for heavy fleet trucks.

That's not the best place to put a jack. Put it under the pinchweld or the subframe. Then the jack stand can go under the subframe where the lower control arm bolts to.

Definitely don't put a jack there without a block of wood to spread the pressure. But I have been using that spot when I rotate my tires, never had a problem. If your going to put a floor jack under the pinch welds ( same spot the factory jack goes on a non RS) you better have an adapter to straddle the pinched frame area. Found this pic.
