Pulled Over! WTF! - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Ok so this morning at 0530 I am heading to work. I pull up to a red light and there is a cop in the lane next to me. I turn on my blinker, stop at the red light and then proceed to make my right turn......Low and behold he pulls me over.

He walked up to the car and I asked him if there was a no right on red sign or something that I missed and he said no. You didn't stop completely behind the white line. Ok maybe my bumper was over the line but not my tires. Holy crap was this guy anal.

He let me off with a warning but still anoying. I have had my car for 1 yr 3 months and never have gotten pulled over until now and for some stupid crap like that when him and I are the ONLY cars on the road.

Vent over.

Your bumper should be behind the line. that "white line" is called a STOP BAR. It is there to alert you where to STAY BEHIND. They are in place so that other traffic, be it pedestrians or people turning have sufficient room.

There is nothing worse then trying to make a left and the guy is way over the line making my turn difficult.

and, you didnt get a ticket. sounds like a WIN for you! Maybe the cop was being a tad anal but the law is the law...

Probably thought you had a sweet car and wanted to check it out.

At 0530 in the morning he was fishing. He made the stop for whatever reason and used the white line crap as his cause for the stop. You were not what he was looking for looks like.

I AGREE WITH THIS. I had an older brother tell me a long time ago that between the times of 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM most of the cars on the road are either COPS OR ROBBERS. Now I know that is not the complete truth but I always keep that in the back of my mind when I'm out late. The COP was just checking you out to make sure you weren't under the influence or up to no good. All you can do is be aware of what his job is and be nice.
