Engine rev

As anybody with the v6 and auto ever been driving somewher popped it into neutral and revved the engine and the rpms stay where u revved for a lik a couple seconds? If so is this normal?

If more than a sec or two, then you might have a problem. I do that all the time to get people's attention.

If i had to speed up to pass someone or get out of the way my rpms would jump up to like 5 and my car would not respond for at least 2 seconds and then finally jerk and speed up. If thats what your talking about then ya my car did it alot...

Was that during or after break-in? I too have noticed this behavior just like Sevn86 described. However, I am hoping this lag will go away after break-in (~1500 miles).

No it was in neutral when I revved it and it would hang at the rpm I revved it to for like 2 seconds it's only done it twice

Its done it many times but two times that were the most noticeable was this one time when I had like 4,500 miles on it and the other time was when i had 6,700 miles on it. I sold my car (had 8,515) so I dont know if it still does it with the new owner...I even did the proper break-in so its not like I messed something up.
