HP tuners sets the minimum price you can sell it for, so you can't find a deal unless you buy used......

This is true.

The only possible way of getting a better deal is if you find a place doing free shipping or supplying a complimentary custom starter tune. If you have the extra coin, the Pro is worth the price difference.

This is true.

I offer free S/H on HPTuner's. I also provide some cfg files to setup your scanner for your application (since the software covers most everything back to 97-98) and also have the latest betas available directly for users.

i don't need the pro cause i've already got a custom tune and want to have a tuner on hand in case i ever need to put the stock tune back in for a dealer visit.

The blackbox logging alone was worth it for me. I did a lot of scanning and tuning on my Impala SS. It was also nice to be able to hook up my wideband and add it to the data logging. Since the SCT will do what you wanted for less money, I assumed the OP was interested in far more capabilities.

Oh and putting the stock tune back on for a dealer visit is a waste of time. If they go to the trouble to look at your ECM they aren't going to be looking at the data, but the flash counter. This is why although I now have the SCT, I've not messed with the tuning.

Me either.

Once my warranty is up, I'll likely do the Jannetty tune with my SCT and be done with it. I don't have the desire to fool with it anymore.
