I know it sounds goofy, but thats all mine needs to be put back together. And before anyone starts flaming about how dumb this is, all I can say is I KNOW!!

My friend blew up his GTO, and has very limited funds to put it back together, so I am gonna let him have my blown up LS3 in exchange for some carpentry work.

I have told him its not a good idea to do it this way, but he is kinda desperate, so if anybody else has blown up their motor, and wants to sell me just one rod and piston, I would appreciate it!!

Good luck with that, might want to contact some engine builders and see about stock piston and rod. But question how does he plan on balancing it all out. There is a lot more than just throwing a piston and rod and making it work. Things have to weigh properly ect or it doesn't work. If it was that easy people would just do it all on there own. So he will still have to pay for the machine work to get it right

Most factory engine components weigh very close to the same, they use a common weight for each component to include in the balance factor so swapping stock components does not require re-balancing.
