I just watched a program where they restored an old z/28 and mentioned the numbers under the hood indicated a special paint. GM used to have a program where you could order a car in any color from the GM palate, regardless of make. In this case they figured out the car was originally a Cadillac color. Is this program still available? And if so anyone know at what cost?

I have a hard time believing that was ever possible. If it was, they probably built a car with primer only, then sent it to a paint shop.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see older GM products with special orders on them. Today, it just isn't possible from the factory. GM cut a lot of fat to be where it is today.
