Anyone know what this problem is?

I've got a 2010 Camaro 2SS. All has been fine, but just a few days ago I started hearing a whirring noise that kept up with engine speed when I would accelerate. I popped the hood with engine running and it's the engine fan. For a few days now the fan keeps running as soon as I start the car and won't turn off. I love my Camaro, but I'll admit I'm not the sharpest on cars. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Is your air conditioner on? That's usually a goodway to have the cooling fans kick on. Try starting the car with after it has been sitting a while with the a/c off abd see if the fans come on.

tried that already

I tried making sure everything was off. That's another story altogether by the way. Sometimes I go out to the car and none of the lights on the climate controls turn on and I have no ability to turn on or off any kind of air/heat. There's obviously some kind of electrical problem with the car. I'm in the military and unfortunately got called up for deployment on short notice and don't have time to take the car to the dealer or shop. Furthermore, my warranty expires this month. Grrrrr. Any other ideas on what this is?

Is this an auto and you are using remote start? Why would your warranty be over already?

not an auto

It's a manual 2SS RS. No remote start. I got a notice that warranty expires FEB 2011. I got the car DEC 09.

That seems a bit short of the 5-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty to me. Are you close to the 36,000 mile mark? If so, I'd get a special power of attorney for a TRUSTED family member specifically for them to be able to get the car serviced, etc. and have them take it in for you.

Its 5 year 100k for the Transmission, 3 year 36,000 Mile Bumper to Bumper Warranty. Sounds like this isn't a transmission problem either, Hopefully I'm wrong but I'm pretty certain that's how it is.

you car comes with 5 year/100,000 mile power train warranty and 3 year/36,000 bumper to bumper.....did you buy your car USED?

The notice you got in the mail is probably some aftermarket warranty company trying to get money out of you. Take it to the dealer, they will fix it.

Sounds like the car has electronic issue and needs to be serviced. I'm with everyone else I don't see why you have a warrant issue unless you are near 36k miles
