Which one will arrive first
Ok here's a question for you all. Take 2 dealers that are located in the same area. Dealer #1 has an allocation of 20 Camaros. Dealer #2 has an allocation of 10. I could be order/priority #7 at Dealer #1 for my SS/RS. BUT, I would be the 7th V8 on order for that dealer (i.e. orders 1 through 6, which are already placed, are all V8s). On the other hand, if I go to Dealer #2, I would be 2nd on the list (priority 2) BUT I would be the 1st V8 (car # 1 at this dealer is a V6).
Which car will arrive first? Thoughts? Opinions? ![]() (and no this is not a highschool math problem ... " 2 trains leave their stations at the same time, 1 traveling 30 mph, the other 45mph...."

Opinions are like arseholes, Everyone has got one. Seriously, I doubt anyone could give you an answer and be sure of it. I guess if I was in your shoes I would pick which ever dealer I felt the most comfortable with.

). I purposely left out that dealer #2 is giving me a $2,500 discount from MSRP.

Well well well. looks whos all excited, lol congrats on the discount, you can get a nice exhaust system right away!
My dads supplier company went down in july and so did my discount, so i have been on the lookout for a GM employee who can get me a friends and family discount, my dealer said they would honour any discount, my neighbor said she would give me her supplier discount, problem is she has to be living with me...anyways il figure it out...couple of short monthes guys! |

Even without the discount, I'd go with Dealer #2....but WITH the discount definitely go with Dealer #2.
Even if you have to wait a bit, $2500 is a nice discount |

The high school math problem would be easier to figure out. At least it is grounded in the laws of mathematics.

And while you are waiting around here for an answer 4 people went to dealer #2 and now you are screwed.
And no it wouldn't be an opinion...dealer 2 would get you your car first |

Dealerships that REALLY get the first born !!
As a former Chevrolet dealer I can tell you for a fact that the dealer to get the first 09 Camaros will be the owners and general managers of Chevrolet dealerships with the best connections at the regional zone offices ! It is the dealerships and owners that endure the tough times that get the perc's and first pick's ! The dealers who take the odd-ball colors and models no one else can push ! When we owned the Chevrolet dealership we always got first dibb's and first one of a kind's because we helped take the albatross's no other dealer would accept ! In 69 we got the very first 3 Camaro Pacesetters in New England ! We had no idea no-one wanted them ! We died with those 3 cars for over 4 months.

![]() If this guy was one of the allocations above you, then you just moved up. Visit the second dealer. That one would put you at the top of the V8 list with a discount.

pick a dealership for service after the sale... never pick a dealership on how fast you can get a car... it will almost always bite you in the arse at some point in the future.
for instance, if I knew there was a dealership that couldn't get me a car until September, but they had always given me a loaner car when I came in to get my service done and it took longer than about 2 hours, I'd go with that dealership over a dealer that could get me a car in April but was going to make me wait for my car every time or make me get a rental car while my car was getting fixed. my criteria for choosing a dealership is this: price, service, selection and loyalty... in that order... the more a dealership satisfies at the top of the list, the more chance they have to keep my loyalty at the end of the list.
