If you hear about another neighborhood blowing up from a gas leak
If you hear about another neighborhood blowing up from a gas leak in Oregon, Ohio
Thats my front yard..... Got a wiff of something bad every so often walking between the houses, decided to go look by the street [snow is all gone] could hear and see it bubbling up good. People on phone said, don't even hang up just GET OUT. but we didn't, 30mins later a lady shows up in a van n pokes at the ground, yep it leaking. Now waiting for the men to show up and dig. Though she ain't saying we must leave as of yet........ as its a medium pressure line? |

I know someone is rollin their eyes
phone/intern lines then gas lines next week hopefully not water.... I am 4th gen on this plot, and its a very old part of the city. Which wasn't a city for a while, just a place in the woods near the lake people built tiny small summer homes. Still se up like that, twisty windy camp ground like set up that gets reg folks lost once they are 3ft off the main road. one way in and out tucked in a corner by Maumee Bay State park. And most places are still tiny, but are now full times houses and the first thing they build is a 1-2 car garage, which is still bigger then most of their houses A real mans place, all garage, with a small place to crash. I dare you to go get a mess of balloons and blow them up...when they start working on the line...start popping them.
Good luck with the repair...if all goes wrong...wave as you go flying by.

No offence to the ladies, but thank God the men finally showed up
Course I don't blame her but the company who sent a meader-reader out to assess a gas leak with a stick to poke at it with. Strangest part was the finish. we have all seen the blooper show with a big air bag, one person on one end, another jumps on the other side, person goes flying. Well it felt like that when they were tamping down the ground with the backhoe. They were atleast 20ft away, so there was a nice delay, Bam down comes the shovel, then you feel the whole foundation surge up. Felt like a wave machine when it got in rhythm. Must be the water soaked ground making the effect travel well. |

Some of my buddies in high school thought that they could weld a leak in an "empty" gas tank without first fillin' it with water. Whoops, luckily no one was seriously hurt. Does that count as a gas explosion?
