I take it you got the unpainted one? I'd just leave it, but that's me

I left mine alone. No need to clear it. I've had mine on for a few weeks now, making runs to Erlanger, KY from Indy and its been fine. Fading should not be an issue with this grill. A few bugs but they wipe right off. I think doing anything to it aside from paint would ruin it. Just saying.

Thanks guys, I read where some said it stated to fade. I was thinking of having it spayed with some dull clear coat from a paint shop!! Thanks for the input!!

I had mine painted all black and extra clear coat. I don't want to have to worry about wax getting in the textured grooves or sunlight fade over time.

To me, and my opinion, it has more of an agressive or sinister look being left unpainted but that's just me. When I first saw it on last years Pace Car, I fell in love with the look of it but wrestled with what I would do if I ever got one. Fortunately I've been able to see it painted in RJT and left alone and unpainted won out. Sometimes less is more as well as more can be too much. Still it comes down to personal taste. My OEM wasn't painted so I know of nothing else. I have an associate at Penske Chevrolet/Honda who has a SIM SS and he painted everything on his car the same color, OEM grill and fog bezels silver ice and it loos OK but sometime contrast is needed to break things up.

I like it like this because it breaks up the grille and stands out more like you said. I think it goes well with the cyber stripes. Did you ever get ur harness fixed?

I found a thread with a lot of them painted, but for my car I think unpainted is better.

How difficult was it to install? I am looking to purchase one, I am not sure on the difficulty level of installation.

Thanks
