Lets talk about brakes, what aftermarket system are you using, and why?
As some of you know, we are building a few cars for SEMA, two of them being Camaros, and would like to hear about your aftermarket brake set up

AP racing has a nice 16" rotor setup that we have not gotten a chance to try yet, but there stuff is always on point. |

Had a 14.5" on the e46
A company who specialized in Viper and Sprint cars made me a set. The only issue was, that the car didnt see the track. The set-up looked Great, and there was good literature comparing it to other BBKs

I'm using the stock Brembo calipers but replaced the rotors with 2-piece rotors from RacingBrake and I'm using their ET500 pads. The combo has great stopping power and the rotors do a fabulous job of keeping the heat down. They also have the benefit of being about 6 lbs lighter each than the stock rotors. Reducing 24 lbs of unsprung rotational weight has all kinds of benefits. And they look good too.
You can see some pics and info here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=45165&page=4

I have all that info in my thread but the stock rotors weigh about 24 lbs each, while RB's 2-piece rotors weigh about 18 lbs. The other benefit of the 2-piece design is when the rotor wears down and needs replacing, you only have to replace the outer rotor; the inner hat is basically good for life. I believe RB is going to be at Camaro5Fest in Phoenix in 2 weeks and I'll be there if you want to see the rotors on a car.

Monoblock calipers do indeed flex. It's a question of how much, not if. In fact, many good 2-piece caliper designs are stiffer than monoblocks, so no overall generalization is possible nor accurate. There is so much more to brake calipers than the usual marketing hype allows for.

I like the StopTechs (which are not monoblock). Have not drove any others for comparison though. Love the StopTechs!
