Speculation Delivery Question

As I know noone knows when these cars are coming in I am just wondering when you all think I will get mine.
Dealer has a total of 19 allocations
9 SS's sold
10 V6's sold

Of all the cars I am the 8th V6 sold. They said they want to send in all the SS's because those customers paid over MSRP for them.

So from what we know and think we know,,,, when will I see the car delivered?

Sounds like your dealer is jerking you around to me. Orders should go in barring any constraints in the order they were taken regardless of selling arrangements anything else is crapola!

I don't think I'd trust a dealer that's charging anyone over MSRP. He may use up some of his allocation for lot cars to be sold at even higher margins.

Based on "what if's" methinks he will get his around August/Sept. Sounds like at 2 cars a month, maybe December for your car? But that is a guess.

And why keep beating yourself up about this? It is what it is.

This makes me wonder.

Say they the speculation is true and they are producing the first V8 ordered by each dealership with an allotment first. This seems like it really applies to the big dealerships only.

If I am first order from my small dealership with only allotment and I ordered only a few weeks ago it doesn't seem fair that I get mine before dealerships with big allotments. (I say this because that applies to me exactly, I had to re-order when my dealer tried to charge me markup on my signed MSRP order and I pulled my deposit)

How do you know he has 19 allocations?

If so, you car will arrive by September....if he has more, AFTER September.

Sorry, there is no real way for a dealer to prove his allocation for the up to Q3 ordering. I know some people are getting jagged into thinking that they are within allocation....Saw witness to that in Chicago.

So when you say if he has more, then after Sept. Do you mean that he has sold more than he is allocated?

Sure, they are not ending production in October. Nothing wrong with continuing to take orders...as long as you provide a reasonable expectation for your customer as to timing. The initial number that gets tossed about was not an allocation, it was a guide number that you could reasonably expect to see before 3rd quarter of '09. Orders are still price protected up 'til March to hedge against increases in MSRP by GM. Every vehicle has several price bumps as the year progresses.
