Shouldn't dealers know their products and services at least a little

I must have the worst dealer in the state, when i bought the car I knew far more than their sales guys and when I did have questions they didn't have answers. No big deal after all I had been studying up in these forums and my unanswered questions at the dealer were answered here. Well the other day I call the parts/service department to see how much the dexos oil per quart costs and if they had any "yes we have it, $7.99". Well I just went to get it and they dont have any dexos and didn't even know about it until this morning. Then this same guy tells me they are running a special on oil changes $19.95. 8 quarts of synthetic, filter and labor $19.95 yeah right thats gonna happen. He also said they just use what they have in the pump, a semi synthetic 5w-30. I'm no expert but I dont believe the semi synthetics meet the GM4718M standard that you can fall back on if dexos isn't available.

Then this guy asks if I'm interested in accessories, I say maybe and ask him "will GM performance parts installed by you cause problems with warranty coverage?"

His reply "GM sells performance parts?" coupled with a puzzled look.

I had to leave at this point. I really need to find another dealer to work with.

What dealership was this?

I want to add them to my "Avoid At All Cost" list of dealers that in an emergency, I can notify the tow truck driver to skip

I dont really want to drop their name as it might just be this 1 dealership out of the 10 or so they have (MD,DE and NJ)

Drop it. How will we know what to avoid if you don't?

They can't all be Becky @ Rodger's.

My dealer insisted the automatic had exactly the same engine as the manual. They were clueless on L99/LS3

Its on the midshore of MD, dont want to drop their name as I'm probably the only one who has bought a Camaro from this particular dealership and if they come to these forums they will know exactly who I am. I dont want my service to get worse if I find myself having to go to them again.

^This, but maybe they're the only one in the area or something?

I went to a dealership and asked " what can you tell me about the automatic with the paddle shifting?" His reply was "not much". He couldnt answer any questions I had at all except voicing his opinion on colors and that he liked the challenger better.
