Order Question

So i talked to my dealer today and he said my order is in the system and GM has confirmed it but he doesn't know a time line when the car will arrive. What does this mean GM has confirmed my order?

Best thread I could find for my question. Just spoke with my dealer. I decided to go ahead and order.

The MSRP listings that are out now are not official. Or are they?

He'll put in in writing at MSRP but he thinks it may increase.

I guess I fail to understand why everyone is having their dealer put "MSRP" on their orders instead of an actual $ amount. Right now, MSRP = a known number so shouldn't your dealer be willing to commit to writing down a number?

I believe that is official pricing for preorders. So since you are in before March 15th I think that should be the price you can expect to pay....now if you ordered after that the price would be subject to change.

You need to have your dealer give you the order status code...if it's 1100 it just means they accepted your preorder. This is where most of us are. If you were the first to order at your dealer you might have gone to 3300 which means it will get produced mid to late march

Yes and no. My dealer basically said that MSRP might change (even though GM has said that it won't and we're locked in). Whatever gets printed on that invoice (which will be what we know now) is what I'll pay. The pricing has not been put into workbench yet by GM (dunno why) so that's another reason they don't want to promise a price.

The MSRP price is out on chevy.com/camaro so I think that's pretty damn official. And the email they sent out a few days ago said that we'd be guaranteed "introductory pricing".

Well they didn't know if it was the final MSRP or not. But they said whatever is on the factory sticker is what would be my price.

0k please help....

Ive talked with the sales mananger--and my salesman at least 2 dozen times--when i call i know the questions i want to ask---i try to ask those questions an instead of getting an answer i get some off the line remarks that doesnt answer my questions.

yesterday again i called my salesman. my questions were
1. For about the sixth time...How many cars did you get from the febuary 6th concenses???........answer either hes heard nothing from Gm or hes not sure what im talking about......or he doesnt check on that its all done by ordering dept.

i tell him people buy the 100s on camaro5.com know their dearlers feb 6th concenses-----he said that you guys dont know --that its a case of my dog is bigger than your dog on that forum.

2. What is my vehicles status now --it was at 1100-again the answer was believe it or not he says what do you mean by status?? i explained the levels -- and the answer was the same GM hasnt said anything.

3.I said did you see the letter from gm today about constraints on v-6s--i had to read the letter to him--i told him it was importaant cuz im number two on their list an im an ss/rs and number one is a v-6 --could i overtake the number one slot ----he didnt know

so after 20 minutes on the phone i once again didnt know anymore than before i called

How are you guys getting the feb. 6th concenses numbers and how are you getting a level status????????????---who are you talking to at your dealership that gives you this info??????????

Go to your dealer - don't call them. Tell the manager you want to see the inventory manager. Tell the inventory manager to turn on his computer and go to GlobalConnect and pull up your car. While he is at it tell him you want to see his consensus numbers and his week by week allocations. Make sure you have your workbench order with you.

How you doin', buddy? After my first trip to the dealership to order my car, I quickly realized the salesman knew nothing about the ordering process, and so I started dealing only with the GM, no need for a middleman. Now if your GM is too stupid to check the concensus result or your order status, I don't know what to tell you to do short of changing dealers. Maybe one of our dealers here can help.
You are right, he can't order those 2 V6s yet which puts your SS at priority 1.

EDIT: I see you already got some good advice.

Just got back from the dealer. Going back monday. As far as options I argued with them bacause they gave me a list of options and one was the boston aucoustics system. I am ordering 2SS, I told them that it's standard equipment. He said "I know but you need to check it off anyway. What a pain in the ass. I will be 3 of 13 at this dealer. I put the 1000.00 down in case some come in this weekend. 3 of 13 surprised me but he showed me the other 2. 1 was a guy who lives in the area. The other is for the dealer. A maxed out BB car.

He also said that they were told every dealer was promised at least 2 per week for the pre-sold orders.

Well, have fun with this one. I tried to get his dealer book. No avail.

The first dealer I went to started charging me for items that were standard on the 2SS. At that point, I realized that "This dealer was an Idiot." I told him to go to the computer and pull up the price list off the Internet. He gave me a price of $47,000 out the door. I went home and got on the Internet and found someone else to help me order.
