2SS is ordered - dealer throwing deal on Vette though - what would you do?
Here is the situation - I'm number 8 in line out of a total number of 8 camaros my dealer expects to see this year. Here is the deal - I probably won't see that camaro till about october anyway. Now, considering I got the 2SS with sun roof with hurst short throw, the price will be somewhere between 37-40k - and you know financing won't be 0% - more like 5-6.0 % I'm guessing. Dealer has a 2008 Vette LT1 with a supplier discount down to 43k plus 0% percent financing, the monthly payment will be lower than I expect on the camaro - Vette or Camaro - what would you do? Keep in mind, current vehicle is racking up miles, already beyond 110k with 70 adding on daily.

It's a personal preference thing, man. Go with your gut. I too am just not a big Vette fan and so would still get the SS, but you know best what you want.

If you don't care about having a back seat then you should just get the vette.
P.S....not sure if you left out listing other options you ordered, but if you are paying 37-40K for a 2SS w/ just the sunroof and hurst options you are getting screwed.

I left out the RS package and stripes - 2SS/RS Black w/white stripes, beige - interior -
performance numbers are similar - Vette is faster stock obviously, they can't have even the SS take business away from the vette. They are similar cars though, more so than you'd think. |

I think that if you ordered your Camaro, you must have really wanted it. So why go with anything but the Camaro? Of course, the decision is totally up to you...

if the price were equal, I think I'd probably take the vette. it sounds like the Camaro might still be a few thousand cheaper. Also I use the backseat quit a bit, so that would factor in to my decision. The Camaro will get more looks than the corvette, at least for the first year.

While they share some of the same components/parts, IMO they are 2 different types of cars geared towards different types of customers. Someone that wants a more funtional daily driver would be more inclined to go with the Camaro. The vette on the other hand is pure sports car. With the economy in it's current state and the prices falling so much on the vette it's kinda blurring the lines though.

Many dealers are offering brand new LT1 Corvettes for just under $40k. Look on the Corvette forums I nearly bought a 2008 LT1 for $38,815 at 0% just last week. If your dealer can get it below $40k I'd jump on it...I highly doubt you'll regret the superior Vette over the Camaro. Just the aluminum chassis is enough reason IMO.

I'm looking at 42k - can't get the dealer to go any lower, but I live SoCAL - even toilet paper is pricey out here.
