Question Strength of the stock drive shaft?

I'm trying to decide whether to go with a 9" kit, or simply upgrade my axles. The deciding factor is whether or not the stock drive shaft can hold up. My car has 647 rwhp/ 578 rwt, can the stock drive shaft hold up to that if say I run it with drag radials?

I'm still on the stock drive shaft and diff... Numbers listed in the sig below...

I have drag radials and have been to the track several times... 18 inch wheels and drags radials at 14 to 18 lbs will soften the shock load... Your gears are on borrowed time. One thing to avoid is a high RPM clutch dump.... I come off the line around 2500 right now and then roll aggresively into the throttle...

I've seen stock Camaros with manual transmissions destroy the diff... I'll run it until I grenade the diff and then upgrade to the nine inch and one piece drivehsaft. I already have the 1400 hp rated axles...

I twisted my stock ds at somepoint over the last year. My car is an A6 and I run bias ply slicks. Even that wasn't enough to prevent it.

WOW, 800HP and it holds up? How much tire spin do you get at launch and what kind of drag radials are you using?

Seems that once you get over 600rwhp it's just a matter of time before the stock parts bust.

Is there a heavy duty after market 2-piece drive shaft available?

10:19 is damn impressive BTW.
