SINSTR6 - 2011 Black 2LT

I bought my car in December of 2010, and became a member of this forum shortly after (I didn't know about the forum before I bought the car). I didn't plan on buying the Camaro, but back in October I had my 07 Malibu SS in the shop for service and my little brother asked if we could test drive a Camaro. I asked my salesman, and he gave me the keys to a RJT 1LT. As soon as I pulled out onto the street I knew I had to have one. They didn't have my preferred color (black) or trim package on the lot, and told me I'd be better of ordering one (6-8 week timeframe). I told the salesman I would come back in Spring of 2011 and order one. Fast-forward to December, one of my tires gets slashed. I have my uncle who works at a tire distributor look at it, and he tells me I need new tires, alignment, struts, and some other front end work. So I call the salesman, and sure enough they had a black 2LT delivered a few days before. It had the sunroof, connectivity package, automatic, black/grey seats - everything I wanted. I picked it up 2 days later, and I've been smiling ever since.

I decided to start a car journal as I start with my mods. Up first - some comestic changes at Showstoppers, MRT V1 axle-back install at Speed, Inc, and tinting the windows (35% front, 20% rear). These are the first of hopefully many.

Picked my car up yesterday from Showstoppers. Had them paint some white grand sport stripes, put 35% tint all the way around, and they installed my MRT V1 axle-back for me. All I can say is wow. The exhaust sounds amazing, and the rest of the work Pete did was just as great. Will post some pictures later this afternoon.

My bad, sorry for the delay. I'm loving the look of the car now. Not sure if it is the stripes, or the MRT V1, or both, but definitely getting a lot more looks now.

My cousin had them on his Z06 years back, and I really liked the look. I was unsure of the white at first, but Pete (Showstoppers) put together a photoshop for me, and I was sold. It came out better than I expected. Definitely glad I went with painted over vinyl as well, looks so clean.

I am sending my wheels in next Monday for powder coating - high gloss black. They said they will have them 1-2 weeks, depending on when shipments come back in. It's through my uncle's tire distributor, and they send them out to Michigan for powder coating. I am getting a great deal, so I don't mind the 2 week turn around, but is it ok if I leave the car up on jack stands for 2 weeks while I am waiting for them?

I have painted GS stripes on my camaro, just love them. Such a nice clean subtle flare... Love yours as well!!

Had some packages rolling in the past few weeks. My wheels are off now for powder coating, won't be back until next Friday. In the next week, I'll be:

- Painting center caps to match color of powder coating
- Painting tail light bezels black
- Painting calipers black (G2 caliper paint)
- Bowtie blackouts (black vinyl)
- Putting new personalized license plate on (and new plate frame)

Can't wait to get the wheels back a week from now. It should be a long week waiting to drive my car again.

Finally got my wheels back on Friday, put them on Saturday morning but haven't had time to post a picture until now. Only have the 1 from my phone, will take more this afternoon. Black powder coated rims, black locking lugs from Apex, painted black center caps, painted black calipers. Also painted the tail light bezels, and put on my new personalized plates and plate frame.
