Moving from Texas to San Diego area.

I'm moving from Texas to the San Diego area, and I would like to know any suggestions you have for me on protecting my camaro, and where not to take my camaro. My camaro will be my daily driver. Also, what are some good detailers in the San Diego area? I've never lived in California.

Thanks

Ryan

Welcome to San Diego my fellow Texan!

You'll find the San Diego climate MUCH better on your car. Less rain = fewer washes. It never hails (OK... 1x every 10 years).

The coastline here is very different from Texas... No blowing sand or salt spray.

Just try not to park near the shipyards (a little overspray but only if you park very close and for long periods).
Other than that..... I can't think of a "stay away" area ........ oh.. my bad... DON'T DRIVE YOUR CAR INTO MEXICO. If you must go, take the trolley and walk over.

I would also stay away from any dealers in the "Mile of Cars" area in National city (right out side of naval base san diego (32nd street base).

Enjoy it!!

We went the opposite direction 4 years ago (San Diego to Dallas area). I was in SD last week for business and I have to admit I miss that weather. My wife doesn't want to move back so I'm glad the weather is the only thing I miss. I don't miss the housing prices and traffic.

I'm sure we'll move back someday though. It is "home" after all.

If you are military, bring all your factory parts so you can get your smog check done for your base stickers, if you don't have it, look us up when you get here and we can help you out finding a blind inspector.

Thanks, I will have to get in touch with you, I did a little mod to the exhaust. Thanks for all the info. I can always count on Camaro5 members. I'm thinking of living in Mission Valley, but i'll be working out of Boulevard, Ca so I'll have to see if I like the commute.
