Noob question about exhaust fitment...

I currently have a 3" Flowmaster AT axle installed. I'm getting an Edelbrock x-pipe which is 2.5".

Will this work?

My thinking is that the 3" exhaust connected to the stock pipes which are 2.5"(I think), so it should be fine.

I'm not as familiar with the Flowmaster exhaust but I thought the AT only came in a cat-back. If you have a cat-back the 2.5" isn't going to work. If they truely have an axle-back then your x-pipe should fine.

BTW: the stock exhaust is 2.5"

Does your catback work now? If it does then yes you will be fine. More than likely the flowmaster exhaust tapers down to 2.5" when it connects to the cats

They have the American Thunder as an axle back too. Marylandspeed.com has it.

Yeah, you're right. I checked under the car and it does taper down.

Thanks, the answer was right under my car = )
