Is it Just ME ??

Hey guys

will im here to ask one thing and the second thing is to blow off some steam .

the first thing will be the difference in ride height between the SS and the V6 both with no MOD or GFX and stock , i've never seen them side by side , but when ever i see the V8 it just seem to me a little lower than the V6 { and i like how low the V8 is } , maybe because i like the SS thats why !!!

The second thing that might give me a heart attack , is that im 22 years old working and saving some money for my love the ZL1 , but im getting hell from my family because they dont want me to spend that kind of money on that car and they r trying to convince me to go for sumthin cheaper .

its getting on my nerv's every time they talk about it , and i just keep on telling them to hell with every other car , im not going to pay a penny on sumthing i dnt love , and thats it !!!!!

eeeeeeeeeeeeh i just had to get this out of my head

Thx guys

I'm not a 100% sure but I think they are pretty close to the same height. The SS may seem lower because of it's front bumper being a little more aggressive and the 20" wheels that give the illusion that the wells are filled more than the smaller wheels. But then again a lot of v6's come with the 20s as well, so.

As far as getting the ZL1, get what you like and whatever can fit your budget.

edit:
Just reread your post and saw that your 22 years old. Not knocking on your age or anything, just be careful with your financial decisions. In most cases I would say that a 45k-60k car payment burden at that age will usually end up in regret.

Its not just the cost of the car you have to consider either. When you are young and blinded by want and desire you tend to over look things like insurance costs and the true cost of ownership.

It's great to have a dream car, but trying to buy it at 22 (while living at home from the sounds of it?) is really going to haunt you for many years. Buy a house and move out on your own first and foremost. After that, if you can afford it, go for it!

If you're 22 years old with a stable job pulling in enough to afford the ZL1 then by all means go for it.

BUT, if you wanna buy a home in the next 5-10 years as many people do my personal opinion is get something cheaper and stick the remainder you would have spent on a 45-60K car in savings

Just my .02

I can tell you first hand that the v6 sits higher than the v8. My wife has an ls with the rs wheels (same as my ss) and iv'e had both cars on wheel ramps to put cat- back exhausts on and i can barely fit under the ss. There's more room under the v6. And iv'e parked them side by side and the v6 sits slightly higher.

i was 100% sure that they are about the same height , but every now and then i see a V6 with 20" and the front bumper seems to be a little higher than the rest of the car , and just the next day i see a V8 and the height is just perfect !!!

maybe i love this car way too much that im going insane

about the payment you can say that i have 14K now and im not planing on buying the ZL1 until june or july next year and hoping by then ill be able to save another 10k so ill have 24k for down payment and the rest is a loan .

but my family is being a pain about the whole plan !!!

its not like im gonna go buy it 2moro , but they just dont get it !!!

The thing is , owning a house where i live is almost impossible

due to the fact that land and building price's are way way high for example having a one story house will set me back around 400k along with the land and building price , and thats for a decent house btw

But im planing to build another story above our home just for me and that wont cost me that much at all , and i've counted every single thing so i can have the car and then build the " apartment " that i want

Your parents aren't as dumb as you think they are. They are only looking out for your own well being. In time you will come to realize this, but not before you learn some of lifes lessons the hard way . Everyone has to walk their own path. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Hahahahahahaha
you can say its rare
until now i saw 5 V8's and almost 8 V6's
maybe ppl here are still not used to it like the mustang , which is dime a dozen in here { sry mustang fans }
but on the other hand you see other cars like ferrari's , Z06's , Viper's , porsche's , Lambo's a couple of ZR1's , Aston's , R8's
but u gotta be rich to own those , so by picking up the ZL1 im in the middle

SS and V6 Springs

The SS camaro does sit about 0.5" lower than the V6 Camaro. The SS has shorter springs then the V6.

I'm not sure what your situation is, financially, or where you live, but like someone told me about spending money on my car, and I'm 20... If you can afford it now, and it will not set you back, buy it! If your able to afford that car now, go for it while your young and can enjoy it! It would be a lot different having a family, a mortgage and many other things in the future you will have to think about. Rather its a ZL1 or ZR1, both my dream cars, if I could afford it right now, and didn't have those things I just mentioned to worry about any time soon, I'd get it. Just how I look at it, good luck! BTW I think the V8 height is like a jedi mind trick, haha. I'm pretty sure they are close, but with different suspensions...
