HVAC forgets the settings overnight?

I leave the AC and recirc settings on when I park overnight and when I start the car the next day, sometimes, they are off. Fan is left on before I kill the engine.

Anyone notice the HVAC system sometimes forgets the settings?

Is this normal?

Hmm . . . almost every car with automatic climate control that I've been in forgets the settings. Not saying it's ok, but I think it's the way these things are built.

I know, its such a pain in the butt. I hate having to press a button or two when I get back in

LOL, seriously though, it happens to me, too. Pretty much all my more recent model cars have forgotten the AC and recirc settings. I think this is my first one with a button for the vents, or at least that I remember, so I don't know.

I had to think about that for a second cuz I thought that my settings would always stay and over the past couple of days I have been paying attention and they do stay in the position that I left them. A/C on, recirc on or off, doesnt' matter, they return to the on/off position they were in when the car was turned off.

Mine stay on the same settings they were on the day before.
I know this because sometimes in the morning when it's cool I'll turn the AC off or down.

But have you guys tried turning the hvac blower on and pressing ac and recirc on, then shutting the blower off and the car off for a few hours, when you get back to the car and turn the hvac blower on you ****ing have to turn ac on and recic on again!!! Or at least thats my issue and never had a problem of this kind before... Hvacs arent supposed to work like that...

Um, when you turn the blower off, you turn the hvac system off. It will of course reset back to default when you turn it back on.

I suspect the recirc will reset after start to save the system. Running with recirc on most of the time will cause mildew and other nasty build up in the system.
