3M Tape???

I have a few painted billet knobs for the radio, ac controls etc. Problem is they fall off once in a while! I bought some 3M tape from an auto store, but its too thick! I have been researching for a 3M tape slim enough to fit inside the knob with no sucess! Looking for a little help! Thanks in advance!

You can remove the liner from 3M tape and stretch the tape by hand and place it where it needs to go. Be sure to use adhesion promoter. The grip will be really strong and you can stretch the thickness literally in half if you want. Make sure your hands are really clean or you'll contaminate the tape.

There's double sided tape out there that isn't thick foam; it looks just like scotch tape only a bit narrower and sticky on both sides. Found it at wally world the last time I got some.
