I was wondering if anybody knows the law in New York State as to children in the front seat. i have 3 kids, 7 yr old daughter and twin 4 yr old boys, in order to carry them all id need to have the older one in the front seat. Is it the height, weight or age that matters? looking for the day when i can take all three out.

In my Corvette, I once had a letter sent home from pre-school for carrying my daughter in the front seat (of course, there is no back seat).

What would one do in a pick-up truck w/ front bench seat, only. Oh, the horrors...

In general the rule is 57" tall or 70 lbs with the height being the more important of the two.

You just put them in the front of the truck. Alot of it depends on your local and state laws.

Did you know in Nebraska, you can have any age of child on a motorcycle with you as long as they have a properly fitted helmet. How messed up is that? And if you are on private property, you don't even have to wear a helmet.

i think it has something to do with weight and the airbag, which is why alot of cars will deactivate the front airbag if there is weight on it, but less than a certain weight. i.e. more than 25 but less than 80.
