How will the suspension respond to lowering springs?

Just curious with the upgraded suspension how easy or hard it will be to do a simple coil swap for a slight drop?

I've asked the same question before. I received feedback that both Pfadt and Pedders will be developing lowering springs for the ZL1.

As far as actual user feedback, only nineball was able to provide information. He has lowered his CTS-V with mag ride with lowering springs. I believe he mentioned that the springs come with some type of rod that tricks the mag ride suspension into thinking it is operating at stock height. As far as ride quality is concerned, he mentioned that it was just as good as stock and maintained the full functionality of the system with it's touring and sport modes. If that remains true with the ZL1, the only true concern would be the reduced longevity of the mag shocks over time.

I know many will be very hesitant to mess wih the mag ride suspension of the ZL1. I was and still am a little hesitant, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to lower mine. Nineball's comments gave ms enough confidence to go through with it. You just can't beat that aggressive, lowered stance!

I believe NineBall has lowered his CTS-V2, and in addition to the springs, he had struts for the level sensors and I believe he stated it works like a charm!!! This will likely be something I'll be looking into, also.

EDIT: +1 to Shurenuff

I will take the springs off of the first ZL1 owner that lowers their car and would like to get a little cash in return. I think the ride height of the ZL1 is perfect...

You guys are correct. My D3 lowering springs came with tiny rods to replace the factory rods on each sensor at each wheel. Basically fools the computer into thinking the car is still at factory height. Ride quality is unchanged, but that will depend on the spring rates that ZL1 spring makers use too. Mag ride still works like a charm, I actually prefer driving the car with it on at all times. 21K miles so far, no issues.

One sexy looking Caddy! And as a previous poster said, awesome plate!

And I don't know if I do ever get a ZL1 if I'll want to lower her or not. Most mods for her that come to mind are minor things. The ZL1 is a car I may leave mostly stock, where as if I got an SS she'd be completely modded out.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.
