2011 2LT/RS oil change

Going to do my 1st oil change shortly and wanted to be sure on how many quarts to use. I looked in the manual but cannot find it or missed it.

So how many quarts does the V6 take?

Is that when you're supposed to do your first oil change? I hope not, because I've already done 3600 miles, and was just waiting for the dash warning light to tell me.

It really depends who you talk to. A lot of people here "suggest" doing <1K it to clean out the "break in" oil / fragments. Some here actually suggest the car performs better too after the 1st oil change, not sure how or why this would be.

I'm following the suggestions plus I want to make sure I have full synthetic in there ASAP.

After that I will change every 5K.

O.K. thanks. I've been used to new Euro stuff before, and these days they do a year/12000 on the first oil. I remember in the "old" days doing the first flush service to remove swarf from manufacturing, but I understood that engines are made to better tolerances today. Reckon I'll stick some synthetic in at 5k now though.
