Tuned L99

Looking for anyone having any comments on a tune, good or bad. I have the handheld tuner coming this week and getting a custom tune done. Dyno tune is not available in my area so I have to rely on a email tune for now. I already understand the warrantee deal so don't need any comments on that just looking for overall comments, any issues you may have, etc.

Good tune does wonders on an L99.

I picked up 11 rwhp and 26 lb ft. of torque with a tune. That torque is what you feel. The adding HP and TQ plus faster/firmer shifts really makes the A6 a lot more fun to drive (and faster).

It got my L99 tuned just after purchasing it. It's a great mod for an L99.

Hopefully your handheld is not a Diablo as it does not handle the transmission tune wihch is the best part of an L99 tune. SCT seems to be the way to go for handhelds...

Teds tune from JRE is awesome. No more AFM or fuse pulls, just firm shifts and a car that is now more fun to drive. Once you get over the warranty issue, just go for it, I have no regrets. Hopefully I will see Ted soon for a cog drive maggie install. . .

trans tune is a must as they all said with your L99. SCT tuner will do this. I went thru Jannety as well after research on this site. no tuners in my area either. i tuned mine right after my header install and the launch thrust will open my sunroof cover about 1/4 of the way.... puts you back in your seat a bit. you wont regret it.

Is HPTuners good for tranny tunes ?
Pretty sure that is what the local shops to me use for Chevy stuff.

Yes, if they know what they're doing HPT is fine. I picked up a couple of tenths in the 1/4 mile when I tuned my tranny with HPT. I can't compare it to SCT, but HPT does require some knowledge to do yourself. But pretty simple once it's pointed out to you (shift pressure and desired time, torque management, etc.).

The software is Great, but only as good as the guy doing the math and pushing the buttons.
