Help

Hello Eveyone,
Next week after 3 weeks that I had accident I will finally get my car done at the body shop. I requested to upgrade for ZL1 front conversion and agreed to pay the difference. Last Friday I got a call from them to touch base with me about the progress of the car and mentioned that they painted already and need to polish the paint. Anyway I am freaking out if they also painted the lower lip of the bumper, I forgot to ask about this. I wanted my lower lip to be unpainted like EOM. How do you foresee the outcome guys?

That's the rule yes, but the adjusters check covers work done to recover the car to pre-collision condition. Since you've upgraded bumpers and forgot to specifically tell them not to paint the lower lip, well. I'm beginning to think you're SOL if they did in fact paint it. Kinda hoping I'm wrong though.

Yay...I think they ordered the parts unpainted and was hoping they didn't paint the lower lip. I hope they're are smart enough to look and compare on pictures before they do it.

^ I agree!! Better to ask ahead of time than have to wait for them to fix it if they paint it.

Well, it'll be hard to get an email and text back if you shoot them first.

Good luck

Don't send them any emails. Just go to pick it up. If it's wrong, let them know outright.

There is no excuse for painting it differently than factory unless you asked them to.

If you send them an email making sure they painted it how you "wanted", then they'll think you assume some responsibility. They'll use that to weasel their way out and make you think it's your fault.

Yes, I will give them a call tomorrow and make sure that the lower lip comes unpainted like factory. I saw some c5ers painted their lower lip but I like the look of stock zL1 better. Thank you for the advice.
