Retune after Air Intake Install? E-Force

If you go with an aftermarket intake down the road( Considering ADM or Roto-Fab or modifying my CAI Intake ) is another tune required with a blower? Will have a custom tune done after E-Force install instead of canned tune. Car will already have exhaust work done. THX.

You shouldnt need to retune after the cold air intake. But if you are getting it tuned anyway just inform your tuner that you plan on putting in a CAI soon.

You should get a tune, at least that's what I did.

The car is going to run leaner by having more flow of air due to the new CAI.

Thanks was thinking about it after posting and hoping the FI installer may modify the CAI Intake tube(already on car) for the E-Force like what some have done and posted recently in the bolt on section. Then it can be tuned. Haven't asked them yet, but they do a lot of custom fabrication work. Going to print out the instructions a member posted and show it to them. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Changing anything in front of the MAF sensor shouldn't require a tune for the most part. It won't lean you out because the MAF is telling your ECM you are receiving more air! Anything after the MAF you should retune! You should be fine without a tune just changing an intake tube but it makes sense to get it done. If you plan on more mods it wouldn't hurt to wait though!

I would definetly get tuned. You may see a 1/2 lb to a full lb more of boost at WOT due to the intake being less restrictive than the stock airbox. This will make the car more lean. The MAF is not going to adjust WOT except w/ long term fuel trims and that could put his fuel trims over +25% plus its not ideal and will leave hp on the table. However part throttle it will be fine.

x5 on getting a tune. If you change the diameter of the MAF housing ( Like a lot of the Air intakes do) the metered volume of air vs the MAF frequency changes, and fueling will be different.

You MAY be able to squeak by with out a tune, but thats entirely up to you. On a stock car, you are not playing with fire like you are on a blown set up.
