Winter In North Carolina
I know that North Carolina does not really get snow but I just put on some OEM 20's that I bought off here and was wondering how they are going to do in the winter time. What should I do I really can not afford to buy new tires and the stock p Zeros should last another 15k.

I just moved from there. The biggest thing is the ice as you don't get a ton of snow. On icey days most any car will suck but performance tires make it a bit worse. Since you have a V6 you won't have as much issue overpowering the tires but it'll still happen. Drive very slow, brake incredibly early, and take turns nice and easy. Kind of good advice for any vehicle on ice.
The light snow you get there usually doesn't last very long and half the time doesn't stick to the road due to retained heat from the sun. Do you still have your 18" steel wheels? You can get a set of snow tires for them and only buy new tires for the rear if you're really strapped for cash. But as long as you take it easy I think you'll be fine. If you were in PA or NY I'd have different advice. |

Unless you get all-weather or snow tires, keep the car in the garage during the any snow. I got Continental Extreme DWS tires for winter, still use P-Zeros in summer.

We don't get snow, what??
It was still coming down when I took this picture this past winter!!![]() We ended up getting a couple to three feet at my house. My car stayed put until several days after the roads were clear. Salt and sand are HELL. |

Get another front wheel drive car, you sure in hell don't want to drive around in the Camaro in snow and ice with salt and sand treatment.

Friends don't let Friends drive on summer tires in the winter.
. Traction falls off the colder it gets and they will have very poor traction in snow or ice.
