If the planet just went ahead and offed its self every time someone said "THE WORLD IS GOING TO END!!!!" I'm pretty sure we never would have made it out of the stone age.

In recent memmory:
06/06/2006 - OH NO! IF YOU MODIFY THE NUMBERS ITS 666.. ITS GONNA END!!!
01/01/2000 - OH NO! TEH COMPUTARZ WILL EAT THEMSELVES... ITS GONNA END!!!
01/01/2001 - OH NO! 2000 DIDNT HAPPEN... ITS JUST WAITING A YEAR ... ITS GONNA END!!!

I'm sure there are quite a few that I've forgotten.

Also, there are always earthquakes, floods, disease, and death. Welcome to earth. Kick your feet up, we'll be here a while.

thats a good reason for some of it. the pole shift along with the weakening magnetosphere has been jacking up our planet.

I'm not so sure, the Sunday paper shuts mine down like right away. Just clogs it right up. So if the ariens attack just throw a newspaper at them.

Besides the aluminium foil only stops them from reading your mind and controlling your thoughts. I thought everyone knew that.
