Headsup if you added Polished Aluminums to RS Package

Those whose orders are still preliminary and haven't seen a copy of their order since changes were made, may want to double check that the polished aluminums are still appearing on the order, mine weren't.

After my dealer told me today that my order should be pulled by Thursday, I asked him to send me a final copy of the order Workbench printout to be certain all was correct, and lo and behold - no polished aluminum wheels.

I had him make that change on December 1st. He said he had no trouble getting the system to accept them with the RS Package selected, and we both thought all was fine. Now today, they suddenly weren't there. As before, he was able to go into Quickorder, which he says is not the normal way to make a change, and it once again accepted them with the RS Package. He's going to keep a close eye on it until Thursday.

It may be isolated and all my order manager's fault, even though he does seem to know rather well what he's doing. But a final check by all who ordered this combo certainly couldn't hurt.

I am not sure why so many people are having issues with things disappearing off their orders. I am looking at a printout from this morning of my order and everything is ship-shape. Maybe that is because my dealer totally rocks!

Yeah, now that you mention it, in a hurry, I do remember Scotty saying the RS Package may be dropped after the addition of the wheels. I just hope it hasn't happened to people whose orders have already been pulled. I know, like myself, many people are dealing with the sales people over the phone and may not be getting hard copies of the change.

What's up, Pete? Well yeah, if you get printouts on a daily basis you're going to catch any mistakes.

Thanks for the heads up - I just checked my latest workbench printout and it looks like they dropped my polished wheels when I pulled the Hurst Shifter off. I did not catch it before. Now I have to go back and fix it... :(

Maybe that's similar to what happened to me, Stingr69. A few weeks ago I had him remove the car cover and add the engine cover. Maybe that's when the wheels got dropped.

Hey Rod. That's a good point. The owner of the dealership offered to just give me a key and my own Workbench login.

My RS package was dropped for some reason. I would suggest everybody re-check their order before it goes out for good.

So I understand that with the SS/RS package you get the "Midnight" wheels. I would like to get the brighter wheels - is this possible?

After Camaro Scotty brought this to our attention, I contacted my guys and asked about this. They said they hadn't heard anything about it, and that mine was in order, but told me the instant they saw my order pulled, they would check it and make sure it had what all I ordered.

That's funny you posted this, I went to my dealers website this am and they have their own version of build your Camaro, when I clicked on the polished wheels, a popup informed me if I chose that option that the RS package would be dropped.
Well I was gonna take a ride in the 69 today anyway... guess I'll stop by the dealer and get the latest workbench printoutand give them the heads up.

Correct. You can add the Polished Aluminum wheels (Q9J), but the RS Package won't be reduced in price, still $1,200, and the wheels are an extra $470, which really is quite reasonable for those wheels.

How'd you make out, 3 SS's? I think the wheels get dropped when an additional change is made sometime after they have been added to the RS Package. That may be why SScattergunSS hasn't had a problem. And like I said in the OP, the order manager was reluctant to go into Quickorder because that's not the way it's typically done, but it was the ONLY way to get the change accepted.
