I just ran into a Camaro "car guy" today

I always have to just laugh about the car names, and the garage queens etc on this forum. I didn't realize that some are really like that in public...

I was at Walmart today, yes I park in the back away from people and I shop at Walmart. When I come out there is another C5 LT right beside me. Not a space away even. Pissed me off right when I saw it, when I get closer the guy opens his door very carefully to greet a fellow Camaro owner I guess? Of course I say hi, nice car. Thinking to myself "why me". I have a 40 pound bag of dog feed and 2 cases of beer in the cart and it's 98F on a late Friday afternoon and I want to go home to start the weekend. So the guy wants to tell me how much he likes his Camaro, ya great... then he points out that my SS is dirty. I told him semi nicely that I drive the car every day and since it rained last weekend it was going on 2 weeks between washing. He was so nice to inform me that "big red" got washed and waxed and detailed everytime he drove "her".... before and after. Great for you dude but gotta go.... and not to wash my car... wash and wax the wife is more like it. before and after. LOL

Let the flames fly but come on people it is just a car, garage queen, DD, whatever unless it's special edition they are all the same. I hate to bust your bubble but there are thousands of C5's just like yours

C5 = 5th Gen Corvette and I don't really know how to respond to the rest. Just sounded like an enthusiast wanted to talk about these great cars.

I would put myself some where in between your "enthusiast" and yourself. I try to keep "her" spotless but the car is an out door car and I drive her 9 months out of the year. I don't have tons of jack to spend on every dodad and modification. I actually went two weeks with out washing her recently, though I did wipe her down with detail spray and a micro-fiber a couple times. I must admit that some can get under your skin but I take it as people caring for there cars, I have times where I want to run on about my ride but I know most people don't want to hear it. I usually let others bring it up then I talk there ear off....LOL

So if there's nothing special about your car why do you feel the need to park it away from everyone else? Why get mad when someone else parks next to you? Apparently it's special enough to you to worry about that, so why feel the need to bag on other people that care about their cars?

My car isn't anything ultra rare, but I like it, I enjoy it, and I take care of it. It's special to me anyways. Sue me.
