On or slightly before the date when we can order it, which means anytime in the 4th quarter officially.

We were talking about this before though, and the general consensus for a guess is sometime between Thanksgiving & Christmas.

There will probably be a couple more tidbits before then, ...we hope.

oh i can just imagine all the mustang people trying to say the GT500 will still be better but deep inside they know ford will never make a mustang mighty enough to compare to the ZL1.

I hope all U folks are too dissapointed when it comes out that the ZL1 has less than 600 hp at the crank. I just can't see them making it with more than ZR1. They could have chose the LS9 but they chose the LSA and the smaller 1.9L supercharger. The only way it's going to be more is if they chose to pulley down and use an aggressive cam...if they did that, then they would be pushing the saftey limits of an unforged engine with higher boost. I'm sure they don't want thier new super camaros blowing up on their proud new owners.

sorry RADZ28...I only made my comment because other posters on the thread were talking about how big and bad its gonna be and how there is no way Ford can make a mustang that will top it's stats...I wish that were true but I just don't see it happening that way and and wondering if the hype and mystery HP number will end up being a let down for some...hope I'm wrong.

When I said "pulley down" I meant a smaller pulley...I've seen it described both ways..up or down.

Even though I don't plan on getting a ZL1 I'm as excited and as impatient as the next guy to hear the final specs and see one on the street. It's not like GM is going to change thier mind at this point....release the numbers already!!!!!

Either way it's going to be an awesome car! I would be surprised it it wasn't CLOSE to 600hp. This is what makes waiting on the next best thing so much fun lol

Yea I know what ya meant no harm, the LSA has a separate belt for the supercharger. The CTS-V guys have been putting bigger crank pulleys on rather than smaller ones on the blower. This helps prevent belt slippage so the trem pulley up is born.

Think about it the Cadillac Cts-v coupe beats the GT500 in a straight line and comes close in handling and its 4000 lb.
