Towing Question

If a manual transmission car is parked frontwards in first gear - facing a wall with the e-brake on, is it possible to get this car towed? Would they be able to get it out with dollies? Or would they need to use something else?

Unless something has drastically changed, a rear wheel drive car in gear with the e-brake on can still be lifted and towed as the gearing and e-brake is all at the rear wheels.

Lift the back end up and you could drag it across the country.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

That would be the easiest possible situation for it to be towed...

If the steering wheel was turned and locked it would make it a lot harder...

If it is backed into the same spot, the steering wheel is turned/locked, the transmission is in gear, the parking brake is engaged, and the alarm is armed, you'd have the best shot at giving the tow truck driver a migraine headache while he's trying to do his job. But I guarantee, eventually he'll get it.

Doesn't really matter what you do to it...they can tow it....

the harder you make it, the easier it is from them to screw something up on your car....

repo?

A good Towman can get ANYTHING.... Its just a matter of time. In the case you state, it can be either wheel-lifted from the rear, or loaded on a bed safely.

Yeah, if the end they need to lift (i.e. the drive wheels) is against the wall, they just grab the other end, drag it out, and hook up to the other end. Or they can just use the "go-jack"s under each wheel to reposition the car.
