tune?

A tune would probably be my last mod (unless a blower ever comes out). Is it worth it at this point? I only have about 6K miles on the car, and it's my DD. I'm sure it would help all my mods play better together, and I've heard it does wonders for the auto tranny, but is it worth losing my powertrain warranty?

I really think the only person that can tell you whether or not it's worth losing your warranty is you.

and it doesnt necessairly mean youll loose your waranty too. Remember, as far as we know, GM cant detect a tune on our ecu if theyre reflashed back to stock

I'm curious how they'd be able to tell even if it wasn't flashed back to stock? would they have to start comparing different values? I doubt that a flashing light and a whistle go off for them but I'd be curious to find out.

good question! I think they do know though by some basic principles that would come up but cant remember how exactly. I know it was posted here somewhere

On one hand, it's nice to have the warranty. On the other, with all the mods I've done, I'm sure the car could really be dialed in with a tune. How many of you have tuned your DDs?

Did i mentioned the tune made me appreciate my car more? well, once you dyno you wouldnt wanna retro (lame but you get my pt)

I guess the question is can the dealership tell it's been tuned if you go back to the factory settings before taking the car in. I thought I'd read that they can't tell on the V6's.

Correct. Their is no flash counter for the V6. So as long as you flash back to the stock tune you're golden.

So in theory, I just need to save the stock tune and have a way to flash it back to the computer? Guess it would probably be a good idea to buy the cable from Trifecta?

I still might wait 'til I get a few more miles on her, though. I might be a tad under 6000 now.
