AAC Halo Rings-Need a custom shop to install

Hey Guys:

So I purchased Halo Rings from Oracle Lights, however it seems the installation might be a little difficult. Im not too comfortable ripping out my headlights, sticking them in the oven just to pry them open to install the rings. Can anyone recommend a good custom shop on Long Island that will do the job for me?

Thanks!

Go to AAC website or call them for a list of installers in your area.

ya thats crazy, i asked my friend who has done many cars. he looked over the instructions and said he is not going to cut open my lights and risk something going wrong and having to buy me new lights. lol i said screw this.

there is a step where you have to do some type of cutting

yeah ive seen the video online of someone actually prying it open. its obviously best to leave it to a shop to install them

Hey guys,

So I decided to return the kit to AAC..i dont trust myself or a shop doing the work, it seems too complex..i saw a pair of aftermarket halos on ebay for $400 that come preinstalled so I dont have to cut open my headlights.

You know it seems hard but it really isn't. If you follow GTAHVIT's guide to taking the bumper off you can have the bumper off in 10-15 mins. Then just unplug the headlights and carry them in. Then honestly, the putting it in the oven actually scared the hell out of me too, but after the first time I put my first headlight in the oven it wasn't too bad. I say first time I put my first headlight in because you actually have to put the headlight in like 3-4 times to allow you enough time to totally break it open.

Anyways after the first time it wasn't too bad and actually I increased the temp for my second headlight to make things easier and it did. I know it sounds scary but trust me after the first time it's not. You just get the black seal hot, and then you stick a screwdriver and work your way around the seal. When the seal cools down, stick it right back into the oven.

If you need help and even want to give me a call, I am willing to help you over the phone.

I talked to AAC about this. They do the installs as well, for about $169 if I recall correctly. You ship them your headlights, they install them and ship them back. Or if you can't live without your headlights that long, pay a $1000 core charge deposit and they will ship you lights with the halos pre-installed, then you swap them out and send them your original headlights back, and they credit you the $1000 back.

Hope this helps.

I've done the install on three separate occasions and have yet to have a problem with any of the lights. It really isn't a hard install, just time consuming and a bit intimidating. But TRUST ME, nothing bad can happen if you just follow the directions.
