looking to go topless
howdy camaro5 owners
my first post of what i hope will be many more i test sat in a v6 rag top (test sat as have leg issues) was suprised at the leg room! wow ..it was great- so .... thought on it and went back and drove the v8 ss vert ... omg gota have it and have actuley had a dream of driveing it so i am shoping for a 11 vert camaro discovered this forum and read on the tops .. and now fearfull of the top issues but will get one any way.. (currently own a new bettle vert and no issues with top at all!) i am wanting a RJT (ruby metal flake) which i under stand were made early in 2011 ... does these early tops have issues more then later ones? they say there are no RJT in florida- one in ga and one in sc does any one know were else there might be one i want a 2ss/rs.. RJT and will drive a bit to get one at this time there are some deal's but seems the dealers all have diff ways they can "stack" incentives ... and thus hard to find out what they are hideing in the "sell speak" does any one here know of truecar.com and if it is close to real cost i figure the dealers will need to sell the cars soon or pay taxas on them what would be a steal on paying for a RJT 2ss/rs ? any advice would be nice ... thanks dave ps has any one seen any of the fire bird front ends for these or the lambo type doors? comments on either welcome also .. |

There's an 2SS/RS RJT in my garage but it's mine and you can't have it.
In answer to your question I have had no issues with my car. I'm not sure but it may be because I have a beige top and it isn't showing the rub marks etc. but they could be there. Good luck finding what you're looking for.

Going from a beetle to a SS ? While I love the V8 you might find that the V6 is all you need. Not trying to sway you but the $ difference may. My intentions all along have been to get the V6 and then upgrade to a super charger when they get it worked out. I have the RJT and the top problems. Wanting the RJT is the only thing that keeps me dealing with the freekin top issues. If I could have trade for another I just might have. But now with all the mods I am just going to push for the top to get fixed.
Welcome and I hope you find the RJT of your choice, I drive with a permagrin every time intake her out. Even if it is just back to the dealership for another top issue.

No major top issue yet for me, you will love the car for sure, permagrin is contagious!
Vertical Doors makes a great Lambo Kit that you can see here I included a few pictures of a local T/A Conversion on an IOM you might like.

If I owned a vert, I think i would just leave the top down all the time and not worry about the problems.
