Can a 2010 be built to match a ZL1

$$$ Can a 2010 Camaro be built for performance like a ZL1?

Could, but would prolly be cheaper to buy a ZL1, IMO. Better resale on the ZL1 for sure.

What do you mean performance wise? Handling, comfort, and speed in a package? Or straight like speed?

You could probably match the horsepower but not be able to match the Magnetic Ride and upgraded suspension. Then the HUD and numerous other pieces. The biggest thing is loss of warranty.

Well, if you are looking for straight line speed, it won't be that big of a deal. You can even get a 2010 (or 2011 or 2012) to handle as well as a ZL1 too. But to get it to ride and handle as good would be a challenge. And to do all that for less than it would cost to buy a new ZL1 ...

You could easily build SS to match and exceed ZL1's performance. However, if you want to fortify SS to match the track prowess of ZL1 and match it's chassis, engine, tranny, differential and driveline, I think you're going to spend more. It's definately possible, but having all the suspension settings in the MRC is going to be a tough prospect.

Yup.. As many have already said, you can but you'll most assuredly spend more on it.. People have been doing this exact same thing to all manner of cars for decades now. 2010 Camaro -> Zl1 Performance will be no different.

How much is your 427 stroker as a kit? Just the short block parts I would need? I will have a cam before then... then I am going stroker and I do the labor myself

exactly. you can modify whatever car you want to match a newer model, but unless you have some good hookups you'll be paying more most of the time.

not to mention the weight distribution, aerodynamics, launch control, etc

The engine (your current LS3/99) will receive a make over and there are two options:
427 or 457 cubic inch engines.
The 427 is 625hp and the 457 is 735hp.
Both are naturally aspirated and run 91 octane pump gas.
The 427 makes a typically makes around 547 rwhp and 520rwtq
The 457 around 650 rwhp and 550 tq
The 427 package is $22500 installed and tuned
The 457 package is $29500 installed and tuned
Both come with our "street" cams but a more aggressive can be used instead to increase the hp if so desired. Our street cams have good manners for all around driving.

depending on the price of the zl1, this is at least 20k more.
40k plus ttl
29.5k plus tax
=70k before taxes
do you have any videos of your work in action? I would like to see it.

exactly. 426-580 isn't a tall order. everything else will be more difficult.

I plan to have at least 600 HP on the zl1 and still keep the warranty. Replace all the fluids with royal purple; engine, tranny, coolant, etc. Tornado fuel saver, k&n air filter with cai should do it.

would spark plugs and wires void the warranty?
