I was thinking if the media would be showing up when the first camaro arrived at the dealership. It would be cool if there was some sort of publicity event that would draw in more people to look at the car and get exited about buying one.

fu**ing pissed. Ordered my car 10/16/2008 and still DONT have a number..they still havent picked up my efin order. so pissed. i dont even want the SOB ne more

I waited a couple months to order mine to make sure the hype and kinks were evened out... car is on it's way now

Where did you order from? Is it a small-town dealership?

Don't know about that but I do know that a lot of dealers are doing special events around the first week of May. I am sure at least some of those will get some local media attention. The thing is though, right now they really don't need to spend the money on press. They are already selling like crazy so until that slows down I doubt you will see a ton of press or advertising.

Look on the bright side. The longer you wait, the larger your down payment can be, and the less you'll lose to interest.

My dealer plans on at least newspaper coverage and some kind of ad when my new car arrives.

I have talked with my dealer about bringing the car back on May 6th for the Camaro event. We have talked to the local sports writer about a little blurb when we get the car. His wife has a Camaro and he loves the car!

We will also bring out the race car and trailer for the photo op.

I'm thinking of making a big deal about this, we meed to promote this car to the fullest, and now more than ever GM needs our support and it would be cool to promote one of their most anticipated cars. People who are getting their cars first could get a celebrity attention for a while.:party0038:

My dealer is having an unveiling event on 5/6 at all 4 of their dealerships. they are going to auction off their first car starting at invoice price.; the proceeds will go to a charity. Weber Chev locations in St Louis, MO
