Help with ZL1 order - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Went to my dealer today to go over the list of options for my order and every option i have read about and wanted was on there computer except the option for the stripe package. I am going with the standard painted hood instead of the CF hood and i want the low gloss strips but the dealer didnt show any option for any strips. We looked for ever but it listed nothing. Is the strips going to be standard or what and if it is an option why wouldn't they be listed on their computer when ordering. any help with this will be much appreicated. Thanks

The RPO code you are looking for is DSX - Low gloss black stripe to go with your standard black hood insert. Good luck with your order.

As far as I've seen in my information I see no available stripe packages for the ZL1 and the carbon fiber hood is standard as well. If you're seeing something different from me let me know.

Not sure if it has anything to do with dealer specific allocations or constraints, but dealers can check them here.

Spoke with my dealer again today about the strip package and it is now showing up on there computer but he is saying that when he marks it for an opion it tells him that it isnt available and i asked if he had the correct hood marked for that strip package and he says it want let him mark either one of the strip packages. Not sure whats going on but yesterday it didnt even show up and today it does so maybe tomorrow it will let him mark it. Who knows............

Finally got to the dealership today to spec out the ZL1!!!! Had not driven a 6 speed so I took out an SS to see how it drove....what a great car!

Since I have been back and forth on a 6 speed vs. the auto, my salesman took me next door to their Cadilac dealership to drive a CTS-V with an auto......OMG what a rocketship. I couldn't get the grin off my face. Didn't help me figure out what tranny to get but now there is NO doubt about owning a ZL1.

I have couple questions about the ordering process today.

1. Ordering system would not allow us to order either stripe package with the exposed carbon fiber hood. It is my understanding that only the gray stripe should be able to be ordered with this option. Have any of you experienced this same problem when trying to order the stripe option?

2. The ordering system also required us to select "Black Front Leather Seating Surface" It would not allow us to finalize the order without selecting this option. It is my understanding that the leather/suede is standard, does selecting this option get me the suede or just leather front seats?

Same here I ask my dealer if the stripe was an option and he said it was not on the order that we did as an option. He is thinking it is a standard but I am calling again Monday to make sure. I have all the paperwork and see no where on there an option for a stripe package.

It is not standard.

Neither stripe package is standard... They both have to be picked from either DSX, or DSW.
Standard would be no stripes...

I just don't know why every dealership that I've called in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan keeps telling me that it is not possible to place orders yet!
