Question about own Cam install

I read the thread on the LS3 cam install.

If we are converting the valvetrain to LS3, is the camshaft install the same steps for the L99?

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125123

This is the thread I read. Will installation be virtually the same on the L99? Or is there a significant difference?

Well... It depends if you're changing the lifters or not. If.you are, then you have a little more work to do.

Yes the lifters and tray will be replaced.

I'm trying to read up just a bit. My mechanic is a ford guy but he is known as the best v8/american car mechanic in my country. He says it will be no trouble for him to do and he just needs to read up a bit on the L99.

This is more for me to know myself. Self information.

He has a self built 10 second foxbody.

Also has done all the work on a 600hp cobra.
Every single mechanic I have gone to here has recommended him. And he happens to be my really good friends uncle hehe!

So the engine/tranny doesn't have to be taken out of the car correct? It just makes it easier..?
