If bancrupcy messes up Gm badly...

(HYPOTHETICAL SITUATION) If bancrupcy does not work out and GM cannot build the 5th gen Camaro anymore so it tremendously raises in value, what would you do? Garage the Camaro and buy a different car?

Personally, I would Garage the Camaro and buy a Subaru WRX STI in black

Isn't the point of buying a Camaro is to avoid fueling "Rice" mobiles? WRX is garbage anyway. Over-rated and they look like ass. I smoke those things all the time in my Cobalt SS/SC. WAY over-rated.

You can't be even close to stock then!

As for as the OP question, I will drive my Camaro wether GM has to file or not. No sense in having a car you aren't going to enjoy. GM will be around though IMO. If you are that worried about it though, just buy 2!

I know I harp on this a lot, but.... GM's not going anywhere, this is merely an exercise in debt transfer, all the big companies are doing it now. As a bonus, instead of paying for healthcare, your grand kids tax dollars will be servicing these bad debts. If your really looking for a collectible, find and hold on to pay stubs that reflected a living wage. Ten years from now, no one will believe they ever really paid workers that much.

Even if the Camaro ends production, GM is still the right choice for an automaker. GM consistently produces outperforming, quality-built automobiles for both the average driver and the avid enthusiast.

Don't buy it for investment reasons. Buy it to drive it.

i AGREE.

Most people that are switching to the 370Z are saying the only reason they are is cause its better on the track....... Honestly, how often are you going to take your car to the track and hammer on it?

No one will know, understand or predict the full impact of a GM bankruptcy for years.

That's the problem - the unknown or uncertainty is what will initially cause the distress. Are folks willing to make the second largest purchase in their life not know what the future holds?

That's basic human nature; enthusiasts (very small percentage of car buyers) will buy anything anytime w/o regard to these issues. They alone will not keep GM afloat that’s where things become cloudy. And should be cause for concern.

I am buying it to drive it, but if something happens to GM and they can't produce it anymore my dad's making me keep it in the garage and I can't drive it.

If it does, it just mean that my camaro dreams just tanked. Which in that case If Fiat still had some 09' Challenger R/Ts left on the lot..

Either way, I'm getting a pony car..and it ain't gonna be no "pony" if you know what I mean.

By the way...you don't buy a car based on other people's cars, you buy it based on your needs/wants. If you buy a Camaro because other people have Honda Civics with an obnoxious exhaust and neon lights all over the car, then you are very confused on the meaning of owning a Camaro.

And are you sure you smoke WRX STI's in your cobalt all the time, if so I hope your 0-60 is 4.7 seconds or faster...which for some reason I highly doubt. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...val/index.html
