As best as my memory recalls 26 years ago the IROC Z28 was born.
The Iroc Z was the first Camaro that would offer halogen fog lights. This particular option (fog lights) would start a craze it seems. Everyone that wanted a sport car it seems from 1985 forward would want these cool halogen fog lights. How do I know? I was there. Owning two of these cool cars myself, I can attest that to "be cool" you rode around with fog lights on, and parking lights on...In the daytime! You had a separate switch that would turn the fog lights on or off, it did not matter which position your headlights were in. Fast foward 26 years till now. Not a whole lot has changed. We now have "cool" halos. You can turn these cool halos on or off, depending on the position of the headlight switch. Since every true owner of the new ZL1 will still certainly want that "cool" look while sporting through town in both daylight during the day, and darkness at night. So now we not only have a combination of fog lights to add, we now have Daytime Running Lights or DRL's for short. Also to add to the ZL1 cool factor we have headlamps with the halo rings as well for combination of 8 illumination lights at any given point up front! So with 8 lights, how many combinations could we have, and can these made adjustable to our taste with a available aftermarket switch? I doubt we can run with all lights on, being fogs, DRL's, headlights, and halos at the same time. Usually a car manufacturer will not all all lights to function at any given time. Just guessing since we do not have a ZL1 as of yet, I would think we would have these options: 1. One click to the right on the headlight switch would activate halos and DRL's. 2. I am guessing that when you activate the headlights, the DRL's go off, (headlamps on)and then and only then would you be able to turn on the fogs once the DRL's go off. 3. I would think in the daytime with the headlamps off you would be able to run fogs by themselves or with possibly the halos as well, but not main headlamps. 4. Then Headlamps and halos on, and fog lights on. How about these options?

I think it will be like the current RS, with the exception of the fog lights. Typically the fogs can be turned on separately at any given time by a switch.

I think the law is you can only have 3 pairs of lights on. Apparently fog lights should only be on when you have fog, but to me, the more lights the better

I could understand if you hit your bright beams that by default that all the others would auto drop off...but other than that... no... Basically fog lights hardly do anything anyway in actual fog... or 5% visibility..

With some of the roads I drive in NH, the more lights we can have on, the better.
