Custom Paint Job?

Has anyone had their 2010 Camaro painted a different color? Originally I ordered a summit white Camaro but it showed up with the bumpers having a slightly different shade of white. So I rejected it and took an IOM 2SS/RS they had one the lot.

The IOM is OK but I want white, so I'm thinking about having the car painted either BMW "Mineral White Metalic" or Cadillac "Diamond White", with orange strips to match the orange accents on the interior.

Has anyone repainted their Camaro and if so, do you have any regrets?

There are several post where cars have been completely color changed. One older one a guy painted his car the true Bumblebee gold color. No big deal to do, just find a shop that will disassemble and paint without breaking the bank, if you want it done right. Just do a search on this site.

Just having our OEM Black SS Car cut, striped, cleared and buffed was close to 3.

You get what ya pay for but yeah, definitely worth it to not have what everybody else does!

i have not done it personally but i do know someone that did a complete over all color change on a 2010 camaro.. the cost was around 7k.. but that was with a candy paint. it came out excellent, cant even tell the car was repainted.. door jams, trunk, under the hood etc...

A friend owns a shop that restores 1st gen camaros, their work is impeccable. He said "your price" would be $6K which I thought was a good deal. He said the paint/clear alone would cost $2K.

I think I'll go ahead and do it.

Fair warning, If you have them repainted Summit White like factory, the color will still be shades off from the body. It is common in almost all Summit White Camaros. Someone explained it had to do with the plastic vs. metal and the temperature.. or something. I don't notice mine at all unless I look hard at my Summit White.

Yes there is no cheap option when changing the color of a car or truck. Not if it is done right. Very time consuming with complete disassembly.

Luckily a friend of mine does early model car restorations, they do top-notch work. He said "your price" would be $7K for a show car quality paint job.

Do any of you know what a flat black paint job would go for. the shops around me said they rather not do it. I live up here in the sticks and theirs not that much talent to be found.

The reason I have been told for not wanting to do flat black is that once it is done it is hard to match the same color again. So if they garuntee their paint job they have a hard time garunteeing flat black due to this fact.
