How much should Racing rims weigh?

in other words, what is the heaviest i should go for, if i am wanting some racing rims, that are lightweight. I dont really have any specific rims in mind, but i am wanting to know what i should be looking for when i head to the rim shop if i am wanting a lightweight racing rim. Thanks in advance. Happy early X-Mas

If you mean for drag racing:
Depends on how much you want to spend. If you have money to burn get either Weld, Bogart or CCW. If you are a budget you can get some CTS-V spares for skinnies and some 18" C5 Z06 wheels for the rear.

If you mean for road racing/ auto cross there are a lot more options. The best bang for the buck by far has to be Forgestar wheels. They are some of the lightest out there and cost about half as much as other big name wheels. TSW right up there with Forgestar but Forgestar is a a semi custom wheel you can choose your width and offset.

Pain,

There's road racing and drag racing...among other types. A drag wheel or road race wheel should be as light as it can be to meets its applicable needs.

A lighter wheel will have measurable differences including but not limited to suspension control, shorter braking distances and quicker acceleration.

Our Bogart wheels are really the only drag wheel option on the market for your car. Other setups are considered street/strip or street configurations which will be heavier as they are designed for multipurpose use.

Our drag configurations are optimized for drag use. Think of an all season tire, its really not that great in the summer or winter but works ok all around. A street/strip or street wheel is just that, an all around OK performer in different areas. If you want the best performance regarding tires, would you choose an all season or a summer tire for the summer, winter for winter use?

We do also have road race configurations. I don't believe to date, we've built anything in the road race department for the 2010-11 Camaro vehicles, but I'd be willing to entertain requests.

If you want the best drag racing benefits, you should choose the lightest wheel you can use for your particular application.

If you have additional questions or concerns, feel free to contact me directly. I would be more than happy to discuss what our Bogart line can offer you.
