Hello all:

I just joined the forum to bring news of the 12th Annual Southern Super Heavy Shootout at Atlanta Dragway. This years event will be held on Saturday November 3rd.

SSHS12!!!

This event is open to all domestic cars and trucks with a MINIMUM Race Weight of 4000# Car+Driver. We are inviting like-minded ground pounders from the SRT-8 boards, G8 Boards, Trailblazer SS forums.. we want the 5th Gen's to play too...

This is a great event for any car or truck that can hit the weight mark, and SRT-8 Cherokee's certainly apply. We will be running several classes this year, two bracket classes a 12.0 index class and a Big Dog, run what you brung class. In recent years we have had some heavy hitting Impala SS's, a twin turbo Tri-9 Impala running comfortably in the 8's, and 4100+#!!! We have had sub 10 second Turbo Crown Vics as well.. Other years the biggest of big dogs break and the 10.50 car wins it all.

Some guys on the LS1tech board think the turbo 5.3L guys are going to invade and take over the event...... are you gonna let that happen?

I'm bringing my Disco-era 79 Caprice with the pimp daddy red interior all the way down from Motown.. think you can run me? Let's find out!!!

Nobody has anything worth bringing to the event? C'mon guys, I'm hauling my junk (and my car too!) all the way down from Deeetroit.

We have 37 cars signed up, not a single Camaro yet. Who wants to get run by some old crusty Impala's? We have a few MOPAR's to beat up on. You know you wanna...
