Gen 5 L99 Mishimoto Catch Can opinion.....

Starting off.... I didnt buy it, I receive it as a gift. I would never buy such a thing.... but on it went, just to be nice.

I change my oil every 5k miles or so, and the OCI had 2k on it when installed, so it's been on for aprox 3k miles.

And today was the day to service the car As I'm unscrewing it, I don't expect to find much.... and Holy Cow!! It's got some in there. WAY more than I expected.

As a EFI Gen 5 car, I'm not too worried about this gunk building up on the intake valves. The gasoline washes them with every intake stroke. But I am worried about this oil going thru the Cats.

If I had a GDI Gen 6 car, I'd put one on, tomorrow!

I thought the kit was nicely designed as far as fit and finish is concerned. Now I like the engineering of it as well. FYI the oil is Mobil 1 0w/30

I had a mishimoto can on my car before i went boosted. I probably banked 2 or 3 ounces each oil change interval, so they defintely work well.

I will tell you that my wife's 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the pentastar 3.6 v6 motor probably pumps damn near half a quart per oil change interval. I have to add oil because that can catches so much. It always reeks of fuel too, that car only has 60k miles on it too.

Got one as well, mine was also a gift, only had it for maybe 2 months but agree it's designed well, was pretty enjoyable installing it, my only complaint was the hose routing, they don't really explain it too well, I feel lile way I routed them is not "correct" but it looked and felt better.
