Going to buy a new camaro with trade in

Hi I have a question maybe a dealer on here might be able to answer for me. I want to get one of the new Camaros and use my car as a trade in, but I'm upside down on it, how much will dealers usually work with you in that situation?

Not a choice of the dealer it depends on how much a paticular bank will loan you say 120-130% of invoice.

It usually depends on how much you owe and how much the car is worth. It's the banks that frown upon it.

mmm Well I think roughly 7k, depending on what they give me for trade in value, I was kinda hoping that the current state of GM might work in my fav, as far as them needing and wanting to sell cars

Look up your car on kbb.com and get a ball park of what it's worth for trade in or private sell. But that's just a rough guess. Dealers will rip you off with trade in's. It's the name of the game.

Most banks will give at least 120% so if you were 7k upside down you should be able to carry the negative.

Haha yeah 7k, its a 2001 BMW 330xi, I ended up getting a bad price because of where I bought it, and I was in a time crunch for a new car, bad reasons but here I am :( Now just wanting to get a new car, I'm hoping that the quality is good on these (as much as can be expected for a brand new car anyhow) Cause fixing these German cars is a B.... Well you get the point...

If you have a Car Max in your area give them a try they have been paying top $$ for used cars here in Orlando. My buddy sold his 2006 Silverado 3LT Crew Cab with the 5.3L around 45k on the clock they gave him 21k for it very good condition he owed $19k on it

You might be better off trying to sell it privately than trading it in. Private sale value is usually a lot higher than what a dealer will give you.

Yeah, when I sold my 02 Monte SS I took it to a Carmax and got a really good selling price for it.

I probably would have better luck because its not stock (cosmetic wise), but I really doubt I could get rid of it for what I owe, especially since I moved to GA recently, I don't think they have a "top dollar" car market here lol. Speaking of GA, anyone have any idea when the Camaros are even supposed to get to North GA? I check that Google map thing, and don't see any in the area.
